3rd Lens Media began as a team of 4th year Ryerson University students that produced two of Canada’s first stereoscopic 3D public service announcements.
The team first approached the Salvation Army with a concept that would help promote the charity’s upcoming Dignity Project campaign. The purpose of the spot was to increase public knowledge of the growing need for donations and to spread awareness that the Salvation Army provides not only food, but also shelter and clothing to individuals in need.
Another issue that the team wanted to address was the growing number of fatalities associated with distracted driving. The CAA was contacted and immediately showed interest in having a 3D PSA produced that highlighted this important issue.
Using state-of-the-art equipment graciously provided by 3D Camera Company, the team of six created content capable of being broadcast on 3D HDTV channels and in 3D‐equipped movie theaters.
Currently, 3rd Lens Media plans to remain in the business of producing professional quality 3D and 2D content. Recent clients include The Marble Slab and Toronto Public Health.
